Little Birdies and what do you think?

Hello friends

Today's project is a card for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
It uses Adhesive Sheets and 3D Foam Squares along with
Spellbinders dies - Out on a Limb and Springtime.

The full tutorial is over on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog, please click here
if you would like to take a nose.  There's also a video on how to use their

Yesterday's tag was well received, thank you for the comments both
here and on Facebook.  I really enjoyed making it.

Now what do you think about this tag for a future charity kit?
Let me know what you think.

Scheduling this post today as heading off early.
Have to admit I'm really excited, be nice to escape for a few
days and enter the world of make believe :)

Take care friends.

Ivory Tag and We're Off...!

Hello friends

Quick film review - Beauty and the Beast...superb!
A couple of hours of pure escapism, foot tapping songs
and not forgetting a happy ending - who could wish for more :)

Back in the world of craft - a tag with lots of die cuts!
The main tag is a Sapphire Plus die - appropriately named Tags!
The layers are Victorian Sapphire Plus dies, Classic Hearts and
again little flowers from Swallow and Heart die set.

The stamp is Altenew - I get a lot of use from these sets.

I loved making this, I possibly could have added more layers but
thought it may have been too much.

In other news... Elliott and I are going away for a few days,
Disneyland Paris :)

It is a treat to celebrate our special birthdays later in the year.
We have been before but it was 15+ years ago and I recall it rained...a lot!

I'll be scheduling a blog tomorrow and possibly blogging from
France but please look out for us on Facebook,
I imagine I'll take one or two photos!

Take care friends.

Chocolate Wrapper Time!

Hello friends
Today's project is a chocolate wrapper, it has been a little
while since I made one of these.
Possibly because chocolate doesn't last long enough to wrap it!
This was a potential crafty idea for a book event coming up
but now sticking with the original #Paperhearts card I designed.
It is an ivory wrapper with a pink cardstock panel.
I've overlayed Romantic Rectangles Two
and then a series of Classic Hearts.
The flowers are from Swallow and Heart,
these are so sweet and now permanently on my Main Attraction.

The tiny butterfly is from Marisa's Bouquet.

The chocolate inside is Galaxy, I'm slowly converting to this as
Cadburys is just not the same anymore!
This morning I'm off to the cinema to see Beauty and the Beast,
Mum is coming with me - she deserves a break from die cutting! ;)
Take care friends - have a lovely day.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week I am featuring a lovely Spellbinders die set -
Border Flower designed by Sharyn Sowell.

There are two dies in the set measuring approximately:

Flower: 1.10 x 1.10 in
Border: 3.00 x 3.00 in

This is how they look cut/embossed.

I've cut one border and two flowers from ivory cardstock and lightly
coloured them with distress ink.

My card base and two ivory mats (6 x 6 Matting Basics),
also stamped with sentiment - Altenew.

I have affixed the border diamond-wise to the card front.

Overlayed the two flowers and added a pearl to the middle.
Clean and simple.

I love it - so pretty.

And for another idea Sharyn the die designer has
made gorgeous gift wrap - here's the link to the full details.

Wishing you all a great weekend, are you crafting?

Take care friends.

A Little Display and #Paperhearts

Hello friends

Sitting in my cabin I thought I would share something with you.
On average I design 10+ projects a week, some for Spellbinders,
some for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Friday Die Day,
Charity Kits etc.
Only a selection make it to my display table.
There is quite an assortment.
I do update it from time to time but certain ones have been
there for months/years.

This is one of them...monochrome with a shot of colour.

It features Blooms One, a flower I keep going back to,
definitely an all time favourite.

I also have a penchant for music script,
although I'm wondering if I've placed it upside down!

In other news specifically #Paperhearts news ...
I designed a card to coordinate with the book cover and this
design is being used at various upcoming publishing events.

There is the opportunity to purchase a kit to make the card yourself,
all the details are on the #Paperhearts page,
just click here.

City day today, I'm still listening to Sherlock Holmes audio books
so the commute isn't so bad, also I take a nap but never
yet missed my stop, hope I haven't spoken too soon!

Please stop by tomorrow for Friday Die Day.

Take care friends.

Hello friends

A rather golden project today!
It is a sticky note holder with a variety of Sapphire Plus dies.
I must have been having a 'layering day' as there is a total of
6 die cuts decorating the cover, finally topped with Blooms One.

Foil card makes a nice change for these holders and they give off a nice glow!
Also an opportunity to use some ribbon, I seem to have acquired a lot of that
and rarely use it.

I hope you are enjoying the Spring like weather,
that little bit of sunshine makes all the difference.
This one is truly happy too despite that snooty look!

Take care friends, I'm back tomorrow.

Fun with Foliage!

Hello friends

Today a card that I made this time last year simply because I found
it in a box and thought 'Oh I forgot about this one!'
It shows a really simple and effective technique
of using your dies as apertures.

I double matted the white card using 5 x 7 Matting Basics,
over a green card base ensuring I mounted it with Crafty Foam Tape.
Foliage die is the central aperture and those
little flowers are Marisa's Bouquet.

Would work with many colours for the card base but I think
this vibrant green really sets it off.

Still speed die cutting but getting there.

Tomorrow a little break to go shopping with my boys as we need new outfits for
one of the book events.  I'm not a fan of clothes shopping
(give me homeware and craft stuff any day)
so should be interesting!

Take care friends,

Patchwork with paper

Hello friends

I hope you all had a good weekend and you enjoyed some sunshine.
First time this year I had my cabin door open and Bella was very happy
to run around the garden for hours.

Thank you for your lovely comments yesterday,
Stanley is chuffed!
I barely(!) saw him yesterday as he was busy working...
More news on that very soon.

Patchwork with paper today using Spellbinders Sapphire Plus dies.
This really was a raid the scrapbox moment.
I arranged the 'patches' onto the card front and then created
a frame using 6 x 6 Matting Dies.

Blooms One and typed sentiment for embellishment.
This was a telly card and I thought a good way to show how the label dies
can be used in multiple designs.

I'm in a die cutting frenzy right now as putting together lots of
kits for some #Paperhearts book events coming up - I'll be sure to
keep you posted.

Wishing you all a good start to the week.

Take care friends.

A Gifty Box Today!

Hello friends

Today I'm sharing with you a gifty box!
This is in fact a recycled chocolate truffle box from Marks and Spencer.
After Christmas they had reduced them down to a silly price so
I had to buy a couple..or more, had nothing to do with the truffles inside...!

Although Christmas red I discovered this Anna Griffin paper toned
well so cut a strip for the lid.
My die cuts are from the Sapphire Plus collection
and yes it is the return of the mini poinsettia!

Something very satisfying about recycling boxes, giving them a new
lease of life and even better when you pop the chocolates inside.

Yesterday's card featured the silver pearls, my pack came from
Want 2 Scrap but I understand they are also available
from eBay and most probably Amazon.

And finally here he is. I would like to introduce you to Stanley.
He has a slightly wonky head, nose and ear
but I've decided that has given him character!

He was quite fiddly to make as he only stands 18cm/7.5 inches tall.
Far smaller than Woodward I made some years ago.

Please look out for Stanley, he has a special role to play
in some craft videos!

Take care friends, have a lovely Sunday.

Squares as diamonds again

Hello friends
Thank you for the lovely response to yesterday's Friday Die Day.
It seems we all liked the Swallow and Heart die set.
With that in mind I've chosen to share this card featuring  bird
today and also the simple process of placing squares as diamonds.
The dies used are Victorian Sapphire dies from Create and Craft,
I love layering these up.
It is also that paper pad from Craftwork Cards again, Toile de Jouy,
I think I've reached the end of it now!

I discovered the silver pearls recently too - loving those!
Today I'm in my cabin putting together some special kits and also giving
Stanley (my teddy bear) a face, I promise to show him to you all soon.
I've really enjoyed making him, so much so I think I'll start another one!
Take care friends.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends
This week's Friday Die Day features Spellbinders
Swallow and Heart, such a pretty die set!
The approximate measurements are:
Swallow: 1.55 x 1.30 in
Heart: 1.90.40 x 2.30 in
Flower Small: 0.50 x 0.50 in
Flower Large: 0.70 x 0.70 in
Banner: 1.90 x 0.40 in

Five dies in the set and this is how they look cut/embossed.

I prepared a card base with two white mats - 6 x 6 Matting Basics.

I stamped a sentiment onto the heart and affixed this to the card front.
Stamp is Altenew.

For the flowers, I dabbed them lightly with distress ink.

Positioned and affixed the banner and swallow in place.

Added additional flowers and little leaf set.
Gemstones to the middle to finish.

I love the flowers in this set (just to forewarn you!)
stock arriving very soon.
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend, I'm putting the finishing
touches to the little bear I'm making, he needs a face!
Take care friends.
